So I am hosting a minecraft server for my friends but I am unable to port forward due to my network setup (Cellular NAT) and as such use a tunnel service called playit.gg. This is not a great solution because my friend's connections are now routed through a whole different continent resulting in high ping. Luckily I have a friend who can port forward and has a raspberry pi that can be kept on 24/7. So I have the idea to route the server through that pi and out my friends network. THE QUESTION IS how can i make my own tiny playit.gg routing my server out my friend's pi? I've heard of stuff like wireguard but I dont know anything about them. Can anybody give me a starting point?

you should use tailscale to link you and the raspberry pi
then use FRP (fast reverse proxy) to tunnel traffic through the pi over tailscale into your pc
and have players join from the pi ip

Does tailscale directly connect the two or does it connect them via a middle server? I'm worried that if so i'l get extra lag. I found something called headscale that i assume does directly connect the two but just to make sure....
the extra lag will be minimal
tailscale is better headscale takes too long

okay, seems simple enough then. thank you! i'l post any findings and results here if anyone so happens to stumble into my same situation
