Hey guys, sorry if I’m in the wrong place. Recently started a minecraft (basically vanilla) server with a group of guys (max 10 of us on at once, 15ish off and on) we’ve got a couple farms going (nothing huge at all) and defeated dragon / built a couple bases (again small time stuff)
Server is a Ryzen 9 3800x(I can double check) 8gb ram and 100gn file size

We run it on paper with like 4-5 qol data packs and a nickname plug in + spark

We get tps sub 10, sometimes very close to 5 when we split up almost instantly, I assume this is a chunk gen and we need to preload chunks? What else can I do to optimise this? The lads are drove up the wall

Thanks heaps

Could you create a copy of the server, and delete the datapacks on the copy?

Was about to say. Probably a good idea to replace as many data packs as possible with plugins, and explore the recommended paper.yml configs

The thing is, I’m trying to keep the farms as accurate to single player as I can, will this affect those? I’m worried I’ll break farms / ruin spawn rates etc
Yakutian Laika
Yes

Sorry lady fr, I’m a complete noob I have no idea what I’m looking at. Will these settings keep single player farm tech?
Ohhh these commands change vanilla farm functions?
@Yakutian Laika As close as possible with Paper, yes
PugOP
Perfect do you know some of the things that aren’t the same?

Datapack with Functions is ruining your server.
56% of your server resource is spend on Datapacks. That's your only issue.
Datapack should, in general, be avoided at all cost. They are not efficient compare to plugins.

The only real use case for them for real server is changing crafting tables and worldgen alterantions. (not just showcase Datpack maker typically made with only them online and cool stuff...)
