I find that for me some VPSs are cheaper than hosts (tho they do have shortcomings), so I usually use smth like OVH to host my stuff. Its like, 7 USD a month for a 12 GB of ram server or smth like that. CPUs kinda stink but if its unmodded it should be fine. But if you have no technical background, I'd go for #buyer-chat

setting up a VPS and a panel for 1 SMP when you have no other reason to own a vps, is kinda dumb

same kinda thing. OVH is one of the cheapest providers I've found, but the server setup boils down to installation and then you kinda ssh your way through

also not the most reliable provider

not sure where you are looking but for performance game hosts are better then vps's
