I personally run a server that on average has 40-150 players online depending on the day/time. Because of this we always work to improve our Anti-Xray/Freecam ETC to make the load easier.
Well one day I logged onto PVPCLUB, just to be greeted with a "remove free-cam mod" to join, and it kicked me. I of course had the mod on because I was previously testing my own servers limits/protection. I then joined a different server and noticed they had somehow managed WURST client detection both of these are just basic mods. But I find this so intriguing, this detection definitely only works with simpler instances of Minecraft where these servers can somehow breach your mod packs and detect what you have and deny you entry.
How are they doing this? low effort hacking is one of the most common things there is. If I can prevent the most common methods I can prevent a CHUNK of hackers not even being able to step foot on my server with their cheats.
ANY RESPONSE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED! π

It's a rather naive solution. People why cheat will usually hide the fact they're cheating if their iq is above room temperature
^
its more of a deterrent to those who can barely understand wtf they are reading
and thats about it

Cheating on p2w servers fun

And you can't block freecam this fully client side

so it's likely just some super amateur cheaters you'd catch? I mean most people are pretty low effort with their cheats.
any tools you know of?
its something youd need to add on the client as well

There are ways of detecting mods, using channels, translations, keybinds etc

yeah our big issue is basic freecam, and xray usage we have far better protection now for these two, but the more deterants the better. You can never prevent all cheating is what I've come to realize. But you can make it far more abnoxious to cheat.
Also on this topic is their ANY way to prevent player esp? lol
we have our chests and such obfuscated if you can't see them.
but players is the big kicker.

I understand your concern, but honestly there's no point in trying to detect mods
Would be more bloat than anything else
Even script kiddies can get their hands in clients that can spoof that info, i.e. meteor client (it's one click away)
Not sure if liquidbounce does it too, haven't tried it in a while
They would've to be script kiddies with poor googling skills or really bad luck to find a client that doesn't support spoofing

[thats how they do it](https://github.com/MinecraftFreecam/Freecam/issues/196), is easy to bypass but catches a big chunk
You can detect mods
But that's not intended by mojang
So any methods that they use is basically an exploit, and mojang will patch them eventually

Here's an article explaining it pretty well: https://wurst.wiki/sign_translation_vulnerability. If you properly detect enough mods and pair it with an actual anticheat, it'll keep out a good portion of them. But I'd still suggest you to properly set up an anti-cheat as there are mods out there patching the vulnerability.
