I've provided a mod list, could there be any major optimization mods I'm missing / mods that are known to be heavy on performance? The view distance is already rather low.

The main issue is low tps when there's more than 1 or 2 players, and it seems to get worse over time.w

I'm running on the oracle free tier VM, with 4 vCpus, 24GB of RAM (running barely anything else) and more than enough disk space free for overhead

🤦‍♂️
Should've started with that, give me about 15 minutes

Server has started to respond slowly, chunks are barely loading
With normal movement speed it just about manages to load in the chunks in time to prevent going into unloaded chunks
Does this tell you anything useful?

So you see oracle free doesn’t have the best cpu ever, and you have a lot of mods
Expect low performance

Hm, fair enough
It ran very well on paper, guess I overestimated how well it would handle fabric
Would removing worldgen mods have any effect if the world has been pre-generated?
Bluetick Coonhound
No unless you are generating new chunks

Would adding more ram help at all? I'm aware the CPU is the problem but it'd be nice if I could squeeze out a bit of extra performance
Bluetick Coonhound
Adding ram would hurt, not help
Gc cycles would be more intensive to run

Oh also use aikars flags
And I’d set server xmx to 8gb, not 16
