I think we have all seen those TheMisterEpic’s / TheDuperTrooper videos of them “Shutting down” or “Destroying” Pay to win minecraft servers.

How effective do you think this actually is from the server owner’s perspective, both from the short term and long run.

Does it actually get these servers to “shut down” (Main exception : Rasplin Smp, LoganMC knew what he was doing lol)
well not destroy, but fuck it up yeah

nah not really. They have little to no effect as the players who play on those server dont end up there unwillingly, there is a huge market of pay to grief community out there. (People who pay real life moeny with sole purpose of griefing other players, it is almost like a kink).

If the damage is huge, they would just reset or open up another server under different names. You can really just revisit the server those drama youtuber hits and see for yourself if they actaully die.
(my message was more on the extreme p2w servers that basically earn their income from their shitty players)

Yes but also no. Sometimes a dupe will happen and the dupers will be clever and hold stock for weeks to months until the server doesn't have a backup anymore, then it's irrecoverable without a lot of effort by staff and it ruins player fun, so that can kill a server.

BUT what ends up happening is these trash servers will change names and spawn another server or do a wipe, and then the cycle repeats.

honestly if you want to take down P2W servers, your best bet is to dig up some dirt on staff or owner, but only if you're dedicated
but even then that only works half the time
