Hey! New around here! I’m about to build a Minecraft server for my friends because I’m tired of paying monthly fees. Planning to follow this tutorial. https://youtu.be/ceYeDX5WTms?si=nUi3ars8mOxuWsdu

only thing I’m confused about is when the PC will need Internet access. Obviously when everything set up and running it’ll be next to the router plugged in with ethernet but while I’m setting everything up and using another monitor it’s all gonna be in a separate room that’s just connected via Wi-Fi. Am I overthinking this or does it need to be connected to ethernet from the get-go?

it needs to be connected to the internet basically 24/7

WiFi is strongly not recommended. Get the wired version if you can

Yeah planning to, just trying to understand when I actually need to connect to ethernet. During all the set up or just at the very end when I’m ready to get people on the server

So probably from the get go is the easiest

why even bother with wifi if you need ethernet anyways
just connect it to ethernet and be done
