I just wanted to ask about what best practices were and if it mattered. Currently I have a schedule set up that Stops the server, creates a backup, then Starts the server.
This order just seemed to make sense to me, and I have it doing this once per day.
The main question I have is if there is:
1-What is the Difference between Stopping the serving and Terminating the server on pterdactyl?
2-How often should I actually run a backup? I feel like daily backups are probably a good idea, especially since its modded, but is there a golden number or something like that?
3-is it necessary to add a delay between the task to create a backup and start the server, or does Pterdactly take care of that and make sur ethe server doesnt start while it is trying to backup. Or does it not even matter if the backup happens while the server is booting up.

1. Assuming “terminating” means the kill button in pterodactyl that shows up after pressing stop, then the difference is that one initiates a proper shutdown (stop), and the other forcibly kills the process regardless of the shutdown procedures. In simple terms, pressing the shutdown button on your pc vs pulling the power
2. No golden number, if your players are very active, use daily backups, if they are only playing for a few days a week, then less frequent backups can work. You also don’t need to stop the server to backup, so you can take them when the server is running
3. See #2

Btw, it’s always good to practice restoring backups. Don’t just assume it works, you’d better have the backups ready and in a restorable state if something bad does happen

When taking backups make sure to disable world auto-saving and any saving to a database from a plugin and re-enable it when it's finished
Otherwise you could get corrupted data
