I know this is probably a long shot, but could anyone help me with getting Minecraft 1.21.8 to run, no mods, just a vanilla profile, on my Dell Optiplex 9010?
1.21.5 works fine, and I get decent FPS and everything
but when I try to load up 1.21.8, it gets to the Mojang red screen, loads a small bit, like not even a quarter of the progress bar, and then freezes, then says not responding, and then doesn't do anything or finish loading, after that
I've tried more than a couple of times to load into that version, all times failing just the same
please ping, if replying

by default the launcher trys a very small amount of ram
@Tamz have you tried to increase the ram on it

not yet, no, didn't think RAM was an issue, but I guess 1.21.8 can use more RAM than 1.21.5 I guess

I'm not using the vanilla launcher by the way
youd always want to give it a shot.
Also instead of running bog vanilla, use fabulously optimized or a similar modpack for it

I'm using Olauncher
I'm guessing it uses default flags like the vanilla launcher though
I know it uses the default garbage collector
ok, if it has the ability to install modpacks use that

I'll be using fabric with some performance mods, but at the moment I'm just wanting to try to see what my computer can handle with just vanilla
it is vanilla

I can manually install them, but there's no auto install thing, which I'm fine with
mods and everything is capable
mud profiles and all that
@Tamz it is vanilla
Bichon FriséOP
when I say vanilla, I mean not fabric or anything else, like bare bones actual vanilla
@Tamz thats not good
Bichon FriséOP
not really, just makes things manual
it mimics the old legacy Java launcher that mojang used to use
I've used this launcher before, and it's been great
I've used fabric mods and stuff on it before as well
replay, shaders, other stuff
mostly all just performance mods though

after doing this, do you want me to send a fresh log?
about to turn my PC back on, I haven't had it on for a little bit today
logs are always needed if they generate
