hey cool people
I have:
- a single minecraft server running on RaspberryPi4 in my home network that I plan to play with ~10 people
- domain managed by Cloudflare on a Free plan
- VDS
Goal:
- let my friends join my server via mc.mydomain.com without exposing my home network
Questions:
- Do I need Velocity if I use a single backend? / Is there any benefit to using Velocity in my case?
- If reverse proxying via VDS, is frp the best tunneling tool for the job?
- Generally what stack would you recommend in my case? I would prefer if this project stayed cost-free
thanks

I personally use FRP and it is wonderful. I just have the server running on a cheap vps nearby, with the Minecraft server and frp client in my dorm room

“Need” is a strong term. Strictly, no.
Does “without exposing my home network” include exposing ip address? If yes, this will make the question above a “yes”
Tunneling? Well depends. I personally prefer a reverse proxy instead
Stack? There is no stack
