Hello,
I have a custom generated 10k x 10k world that is around 7.5gb in size. I want to make it so that the chunk resets after its unloaded and want it to be as storage efficient as possible, but I have no idea how.

thats not a great idea, youd rather just purge the chunks with mcselector with a setting of like 15 seconds of lifetime on chunks, anything under will be removed
I think you wanted that vs what you said

Don’t do it, if you are worried about storage, then why did you even pregen in the first place?

I’m not really worried about storage but I was wondering if there was an alternative way to reset the world without using any extra storage since I currently have a plugin that resets the chunk after its unloaded from a copy of the world.

You are solving a problem that doesn’t really exist then at the cost of stability?
Why?
I’m not really worried about storage
and
to be as storage efficient as possible
makes no sense to have in the same place
just dont do your plan, and take the extra storage
if you have 100gb of storage usability its fine

chunky is better in 99% of cases
because it doesnt require you to have shell access, nor download and upload

to remove chunks?
@Tamz to remove chunks?
Connecticut Warbler
yes
chunky trim does inhabited time aswell
single command, just need to restart after for best practice
way less downtime than having to download 100 gb world, mcaselector then upload again
1 command like 10 seconds and youre done
