been researching, and would like to figure out how to do this, and figure out how to actually unlock the bootloader on my blu view 5, although it seems as though there is no option to unlock the bootloader in the developer options...

from what it looks like, and from what I've read, it seems as though PostmarketOS might be my best method for trying to install Linux on my Android device, as an actual Linux distribution instead of as an emulator like Termux or Andronix...

The only limitations I have are trying to figure out how to unlock the bootloader on my injured device, then root it, and then understand how to actually port it for my device, if possible...

essentially, I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to get past these limitations are currently have, that I believe are able to be surpassed

for clarification, the Blu View 5 is an old Android device that I'm wanting to turn into a Linux machine, while my daily driver is currently my Moto G Stylus 2024 that I have a phone plan and everything set up on

This is gonna be one of those things that’s a complete piece of shit to bypass.

Anything is possible if you know the right code.
Probably dig deep and try doing bootloader unlocks first, if that fails go down into exploits.

well, I don't currently have computer access, but it seems as though if the option isn't available in developer options, then you can do it via a fast food command with ADB, but not sure if you're able to do something like that through termux on the same device, instead of having to use a separate computer
just going based off of what I've seen so far, in terms of understanding that you could possibly do it via fastboot with ADB stuff

I would wait for a computer. This gives me fragile vibes.
could you rephrase or elaborate?
if the phone gets bricked or whatever, I'm not exactly too concerned with it
it's an old phone that I don't use anymore
Ruddy Ground-Dove
I mean in that case go wild.
Bichon FriséOP
if anything I can just pull the SD card out and move the files to this phone that I'm currently using now

Find an exploit, poke it.

You're saying to just experiment even though I'm not well educated? lmao
Ruddy Ground-Dove
That’s how we all first learn.

I mean, theoretically, the same would apply to Linux as it would to windows for the most part, in terms of using a computer to enable fastboot, since you have to use the command line on Windows anyways, correct?
holy shit
someone's already done it
lol
I didn't even put in a prompt in Google relating to that necessarily, I just put in a prompt relating to using a computer to do it
lmao
