Are they completely separate servers or are they behind eg. a Velocity proxy?

Completely separate at the current moment! Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be willing to try velocity. Although I’ve never tried my hand at something like that

In that case i don't think that exists, atleast not that i've been able to find anything however you could probably use some mod to link both of your ingame chats a discord channel as a bridge
Or the alternative option would be to go with velocity in that case a simple proxy side plugin like [SimpleProxyChat](https://modrinth.com/plugin/simpleproxychat) should get the job done

I made an earlier post about wanting to connect two servers together, so if chat is available with velocity then I might as well go with that! Will I be using FabricProxy-Lite? And I’m very noobsh to this so is there a video or article on it or anything?

you can use that yes, as far as articles etc. go the docs of both fpl and velocity should pretty have everything you need

in fabricproxy lite, it says configure "Velocity". not sure if i dont know something, but isnt velocity only for paper?

no, velocity is a proxy. Your statement sounded like "but isn't haproxy only for nginx"
you need to install fabricproxylite on fabric to use it, paper has native velocity support, thats all

one thing is, i am using a fabric 1.21.5 server for my main server, then using a fabric 1.21.1 server for cobblemon

Is velocity configured to point at this server, do they have the same forwarding secret?

yep! "modern" and fowarding secret added to all servers. i can connect to my fabric 1.21.5 server through my proxy, but cannot connect to my fabric 1.21.1 server

I’d try removing the mods on the one with issues. Sometimes mods are incompatible with proxy protocols
