I have experience with setting up Paper servers and Velocity, but this is my first time using pterodactyl.
I got both paper and velocity running on pterodactyl, but i can't figure out what IP to put in velocity.toml so i can connect to paper through velocity.

ptero servers exist within containers, so you want to use the docker network address, it's usually 172.18.0.1. Keep in mind that the server address for the backend server must be that aswell (because localhost won't work and you do not want to use the public ip either)
if the server exists on another wings node, you will be forced to use public ip tho

io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: finishConnect(..) failed: Connection refused: /172.18.0.1:25655
Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: finishConnect(..) failed: Connection refused
it is on the same wings node
server-port=25655

is the backend server allocation set to that ip?
like mentioned above, localhost address won't work
TonkineseOP
this?

Philippine Crocodile
yes
TonkineseOP
it's the ip in the local network
Philippine Crocodile
which it can't reach
because it's on the docker one
TonkineseOP
in velocity i set it to 172.18.0.1:25655
like you said
Philippine Crocodile
it needs to be the default allocation for the backend server too.
which I mentioned before too

might be a different question,
i made another paper server in ptero
i can only access it with velocity if i disable firewall
or if i open port 25566 in firewall
how can i make it work without opening 25566?
Philippine Crocodile
you need the port open to allow things to connect to it
if you're using the docker ip allocation, then nothing but your docker network can access the server
you don't need a firewall, there's nothing to firewall, port should not be open to public
