me and my friends like playing donutsmp but are unsatisfied because of the community, full of cheaters, which breaks the point of making any base.
Id like to self host a server similiar to it but just dont know where to start; what plugins am i supposed to use for example? how do i make duels and other stuff? any help is very appreciated because i dont know where to start

There isn't really any point to cloning another server
If a server that you make isn't unique, why would anyone play on it
If cheating is your main complaint, your server will fall victim to the same fate
More players means bigger community means more cheaters
And cheating is a very complicated problem to solve
Rant aside, to answer your actual question:
Pretty much just learn java (or kotlin :p) and make plugins that do what you want

Sites like hanger, spigotmc, modrinth and polymart have ready-to-use plugins you can drop in, but if you can download and use them, so can any other server, meaning they won't be adding anything unique to your server
@Masai Lion If a server that you make isn't unique, why would anyone play on it

If you want something super specific, you can also commission people to make plugins for you
I know a few people here do that and the helpchat server is full of people who do that, too

FWIW I made #Raycasted Entity Occlusions which is pretty good at blocking basefinding (yeah yeah self plug ik but it's free so)
It hides entities not in view, including tileentities
so it blocks pie ray and certain esp hacks

what, antixray doesnt block base finding, not to mention HE HAS NO CONTROL OVER DONUTSMP
