Hey all, I've been trying to figure out why my server has been running at such absurdly low TPS. I have a decent amount of datapacks installed, and server-side mods installed as well. The TPS usually hovers around 14-15 with 4 or 5 people on, even when not generating any new chunks. I'm using Aikar's flags upon startup with 10GB of RAM and hosting on my own computer with a Ryzen 5 7600, 32GB 6000MHz, and 2TB ssd.
Sim distance is 4, View distance was 16 when I ran this spark profiler but is now 10. Changing view distance had no affect on TPS.

Remove VMP and C2ME, they can cause fuckery.
View distance is 16, reduce to at very most 8, but preferably 6, if you want view distance go get DistantHorizons or Bobby.

i did reduce it to 10 today but i havent seen any improvement in tps

im kinda uneducated on hosting servers so i wouldnt be surprised if i made some blunders

I suck at reading Spark reports though, so with any luck PGDK knows.
There's also this server which is weird looking, that I do know.
What OS is this on? Windows?

Windows, presumably bare files. When was the last reinstall you did? Windows is generally hot garbage at running servers, not the kind of diff that causes this, but things add up.

not really, i've only ever hosted 4 other servers in the past
only ever with friends so max 8 or 9 players
and usually it's a pretty heavy modpack and i don't have performance issues like i'm having with this one

that's what i've been doing to be honest
dont think i'd need to worry about even leaving my pc online all day as well since all the friends i have playing are all in the same time zone
i'll see if these changes fix the tps though and i'll get back to this thread if it still has issues
unless theres something concerningly wrong
