Which would you say is the better host for modded servers (16 GB RAM)
From their respective websites

Modrinth

"Modrinth Servers are powered by AMD Ryzen 7900 and 7950X3D equivalent CPUs at 5+ GHz, paired with DDR5 memory."

Lagless

"Dallas: AMD Ryzen 9900X | Frankfurt: AMD Ryzen 9950X"

CPU power wise, lagless would be the better option. 10-15% better single core performance.
@Eulophid wasp What about the SSD that modrinth offers?
It can be a harddrive and it wouldnt change much
Minecraft is a more CPU intensive game then anything else
It's stated simply as "SSD" on their website. You could contact them for more details if you like
Another thing to note is it seems modrinth offer unmetered storage free of charge compared to lagless who offer 150GB.

This could be a factor if you believe you would use more than 150GB

Modrinth:

Can I increase the storage on my server?
Yes, storage can be increased on your server at no additional cost. If you need more storage, reach out to Modrinth Support.

Southern African anchovy
As long as its an SSD it literally doesn't matter

Im not sure because lagless offers NvmE and not SSD
Thats my only differentiating thing
ssd or nvme its not really something to worry about much
Eulophid waspOP
I see
My problem with lagless is that it really seems to good to be true
24$ for 16GB of tam
Ram*
they are a verified seller here, meaning it is indeed true. #service-providers
Eulophid waspOP
Insane
Im assuming 16GB would be enough for 30+ players on a slightly modded server
Entirely depends how well optimized the modpack is.
Eulophid waspOP
(120 mods that dont add much content)
@Tamz Entirely depends how well optimized the modpack is.

Are there tutorials to optimize a modpack better? I have tons of performance mods but I’m not sure how good they really are
!spark thats leading into another questions post to be fair. there is a lot to consider, a lot to think on, and a lot of checks to be done
most can be done with spark (a viewer, not optimizer) and someone to help show you areas to improve
@Eulophid wasp Im not sure because lagless offers NvmE and not SSD
NVMe is an SSD.

It's just an a different interface to regular Sata SSD's.

NVMe SSD's do have faster transfer limits but like others have said, this is neither here nor there. You aren't going to be maxing SSD throughput running a Minecraft server lol
