Weird timeouts and ping issues Paper 1.21.3

wow this is a very interesting case, I wonder what's happening?

really weird issue. Upgrading jar to paper 1.21.4 (latest) seemed to make the issue a bit better by not timing me out

removed all plugins, still happening

Spark report shows high ping to the server.

Can you try running

/spark ping --player <username>

And post results here.

weirdly enough after /kill-ing all the sheep at spawn (it was like 50 entities) the issue went away???

i really have 0 idea what could've caused this

no way 50 entities causes that much lag

Now try and see if this is repeatable.

Spawn the sheep again and see if the ping lag comes back

I dont think its due to the entities tho

i start at 1k ping, and slowly go down to around 200 (which is normal)

I get the feeling it is unrelated to the entities, and more likely a network issue on the host end

im tryna look at my upstream provider, cuz im seeing no network issues on our end

DDOS prot ppl really dropping the ball here 🤦‍♂️

confirmed its not just now. Tried it out on a different server on the same exact node, 100 sheep spawned in. Couldn't reproduce

yet 1 gives 1k ping, the other gives 200

Could be a routing issue. Are both servers using the same IP?
