Hello, I would like to run a Vanilla Minecraft server for my friends. I want to use 1 mod (besides the optimisation mods) which is Proximity Chat. My aim is also to get a server of 4GB or RAM. What are some mods I should use to optimize the server? I will be launching the server in Fabric Modloader.
The server will also be on the latest version, 1.21.5

1. could you provide some more information on your current setup aswell as a spark report?
2. why do you want to reduce ram usage in the first place?

If you browse through the threads, there have been a few threads that talked about optimizing fabric servers
The “general” rule of thumb mod for voice chat is simplevoicechat, can’t go wrong with it

I use the mods in this. Just without servercore, and alternate current

1. I'm running a server from Prism. 6GB of RAM, CPU has 2 cores it's 7000 series. (Cant find which one). I'm not sure what a Spark Report is?
2. I want to reduce RAM usage so the server runs smoothly

Thanks! Do you run the server yourself or do you use a hosting service? Do you think I should use Concurrent Chunk Management Engine if I use a Server Hosting service?

Am I wrong in my understanding:
I have bought a server with x amount of RAM. The amount of players and mods on the server impacts the RAM as well as the behaviour of the players and farms.
Furthermore, I've been told the following by the Staff of this server:
"You shouldn't only use one mod, use optimisation mods to make the server faster so you can run with less RAM."

Anyway, I've received a good list with optimisation mods so it's all good!

is that a shared host by chance?

I think so, yes

that's why they want you to use as little ram as possible
anyways ram usage doesn't really matter for performance unless it gets so extreme that it starts to fuck up your gc (low or high) which it really shouldn't for you here

RAM usage matters when people are trying to do things, we don't know exactly who bro is playing MC with, but what we do know is making the game a bit more RAM efficient under 8 gigs is a must do, especially with the accursed Elytra.

fair enough, however setting goals like "aim is also to get a server of 4GB or RAM." is just absurd, especially when you have 1.5x that at your disposal
Agreed.
