I am in college and want to run a small server off the internet for a few friends but I'm not allowed to port forward any suggestions other then hamachi, I don't want to break any rules

Tunneling in this case basically creates a secure connection between a playit server and your server. Then players connect to the playit subdomain and the traffic is “tunneled” to your server
Pretty much the most go-to method of hosting a server without port forwarding
Also, if you’re not keeping the server up 24/7 and it’s more of an open to LAN when you all play together type of thing, there are much simpler solutions
examples: Essentials mod, e4mc mod, and others
