Updated Server to 1.21.5, now loading an excessive amount of chunks

hey guys! i just updated my server to 1.21.5. using fabric, only server-side mods. with only me on the server, it looks like i am loading around 3k chunks. whats going on? is something wrong? my MSPT has been taking a toll and i assume it is due to this.

seems like every player adds to this as well. if someone else joins, it can go to upwards of 6k

Nothing really out of the ordinary in your properties but you should probably turn down the view-distance a bit if you don’t mind it being lower

gotcha. i run a geyser server. so, id like to keep it at least 12? hopefully. java is fine, there is always Bobby mod, but bedrock is a different story
