I just wanted to know the question stated above. Had a disagreement with a friend who got a years worth of credit on havoc hosting (he didn't want to host the server as he said he MIGHT use the credit for web hosting laterm) and decided to put my rpi4 to good use. Calculated the costs for energy and they seem too good to be true.
What kind of performance should I expect from such a system?
I already researched something about Pinecraft, not really sure what to use, some recommend Pterodactyl, etc. I'll probably use Paper on the server.
Does anyone have hands on experience? Any recommendations?
Main question: Will the performance be reasonable enough for a few friends to play together without lag?
EDIT: I have the rpi4 B 400 4gb

It’ll be maybe reasonable if you don’t use Paper but rather Fabric and really optimise the living shit out of the server.
Or if you use Paper you probably want a fork that aims for low resource systems.
Point being yes probably doable, but make sure you for reals push the optimisations as far as you can. 4 gigs is not much RAM for MC.
