it depends entierly on what server software your using to what benifits it will provide but some tasks are run in async and or multi threaded

Minecraft has a main thread but mc in general isnt singlethreaded
Especially if you use mods/paper etc
Yeah 1 thread vs 2-4 is a massive difference
