Server Resource Pack Doesn't Work

So I'm a complete rookie when it comes to hosting a server. I'm currently hosting a small local server. I have been trying to add a server resource pack, and it seems to work for a little while then stop working. Online it said you can just upload the pack on Discord, then copy the link and paste it in properties. Does that not work? Or is it cause I'm not putting a UUID or SHA1 in the properties - I didn't think they were required for such a small server. When I added a UUID it still didn't work anyway. Sorry if this is a silly question.

Using discord as a file host is not recommended at this point
You may be referencing an old tutorial, but discord now does not have permanently valid direct download links
As for UUID and SHA1 the UUID will be set to a default if you dont set it so itl be fine, itl just send a message on boot

Ahh, that's why it only works for a short period.

Setting a sha1 is ideal as it makes sure users dont have to redownload the pack every time
Without a SHA1 everyone will redownload the pack on every join

So lastly where should I upload the pack? On Google drive or something?

Anywhere you can create a direct download link
google drive and dropbox both work with a little messing around with the url

when you create a share link in the url there is a file id
put that file id into what i just sent for it to work as direct download

Just wondering, would it also work if you just bundle the pack in the world folder like singleplayer?
