hey, so i've run a couple of 1.21 paper smps all with tps issues, they all tend to start lagging hard no matter what I do

I've tried using chunky, limiting simu distance, pruning ground xp orbs/entites. I've heard that the standard is 8gb for a sevrer like mine but it really isnt cutting it, is there any specific cpu/ram specs that I should be looking for in a host?

(theres not many mods, only discordsrv, chunky and some datapacks from vtweaks and geophilic)
@Jersey Wooly check out #service-providers

i've checked them out but im not really sure which specs are fit for my situation
ive tested pebblehost, sear, witherhost and gravelhost and all of those seem to be either summerhosts or just overall shit specs
server usually gets anywhere from 7-2 players on at any given time

What region are you looking for a server in?

asia/au

Hmm that's a tough one. I represent prism and would normally offer you a trial but we won't have stock in Singapore for another few weeks. My second recommendation would be Lilypad since they have decently high end CPUs in Singapore/AU but I'm not sure if they have stock either 😓
Might be worth checking out https://bloom.host. They're on the pricier side but are upgrading to 9950X CPUs soon

west coast na is fine too but its mainly asioa
so prism and lilypad

Sounds good. With most providers (ik you can do this with us), you can start with a location like LA then transfer to Singapore once stock arrives later on
@English Spot ah ty ty

No problem 🫡

would a ryzen 5 7600 be good enough for players loading many chunks?
with chunky and all the paper optimizations ofc

It should be fine in theory, I'd recommend something beefier like a 9900X/7950X/9950X since it sounds like you're running some pretty heavy datapacks

similarly, most providers let you upgrade down the line too (via a ticket if it's between tiers)
