I want to host a server for me and my friends specifically a mod pack and ive done it before but with port forwarding but i moved so i no longer have access to the interface to let me make the tcp/udp port and do it that way is there an external way to keep our ping down to a playable amount and do it for free?
Is the server using offline mode? May have security implications
The server.properties file
Is online-mode set to false?

i didnt even know that was an option, how would they connect?
through something like hamachi
Nah that’s not an option, don’t do it
You have a few ways with this
You can try playit, but low latency is never guaranteed
You can also get a cloud VPS instance from providers like azure or aws, and then run fast reverse proxy on there
Would not recommend hamachi at all

why not? its only me and close friends
How many players
MunchkinOP
6 max
usually 4
or less tbh
they quit fast
Eh then it would probably be fine, although I strongly dislike p2p vpns

is this free or paid?
Aws have a free plan for ec2 micro that you can use for 12 months. Paid after
Not sure about azure, but should be similar

ah okay
Hamachi is annoying honestly, they need to download it and turn it on to play
This is in no way scalable for larger servers in case you wish to expand
Why not just use the essentials mods / e4mc
free, and runs in the game
eh?
