Messing around with some stuff, and trying to figure out what style I want to go with, I guess--thoughts on this top texture for the anvil?

lmao
It would be helpful to see it in game, considering how small it is lol.
Bichon FriséOP
i'll try and do that

If I wanted to, I could Just zip the folder that has all the sample pack textures in it, but with the anvil texture I made and that should work, yeah?
it's literally just all of the vanilla textures

Not really tracking what you're saying, but it doesn't maybe sounds right.

What you want to do is make a resource pack. There are pages on https://minecraft.wiki about how to correctly create one. The file layout matters.

Once you have one made, you can actually just do all of your editing within that pack. Normally you'd zip it up to distribute it, but Minecraft will read it from a folder just as well.

So you make the basic structure of a resource pack, and then put it into your resourcepacks folder (not zipped), and do your editing in there. Then when you want to load it, you can just hit F3 + T to force reload textures, and see the updated textures in game.

i have a sample rp downloded from the mcassets site
it's just a default pack, basically

gotcha, then yeah, probably just move the whole folder with your changes (and defaults) into the resourcepacks folder, load it in the menu as with any other resource pack, and then each time you make a change, F3 + T to reload it with the new changes.

gotcha

Well, a bunch of trial and error later because I was an idiot, I finally got the pack working, but then realized that it's horrible because the texture for the anvil is kind of like a skin file, and I didn't realize that from what it looked like at first come up before just making a new texture file for it... lolz

Okay, finally got it working after a long time, brain just isn't working tonight, it's 4:01 in the morning, but I finally got it to do what I wanted it to do, lmao

Ended up changing it from a 32 pixel texture to 64 pixel texture, because I just didn't like the way it looked, as a 32 pixel texture, But this also meant I had to redraw the whole thing, lmao

I'll probably just end up sticking with the 64 pixel format, and try to change the models of certain items to fit the style I'm going for
nicely done. looks good.
Bichon FriséOP
ty, my brain hurts, lolol
i just have to remember when making the zip to put it in my resource pack folder, that I'm not zipping the outermost folder, but I'm zipping up the assets folder, pack.mcmeta, and pack.png files into one zip, that way it actually makes a valid resource pack file
