Question about new mc server

Hi I'm trying to create an MC server that is probably going to be vanilla and it is always pretty laggy. It's not insane lag but it makes people remine a block and sometimes even get lagged back. I'm currently using a Dell g15 laptop so that might be why. It has a 5800h and 16gb of ram(8gb allocated to mc server) so I doubt it's a specs issue. I am just testing for right now with 3 people so idk why it's so laggy. If I need to provide logs I can though. I suspect its a wifi/Internet issue or maybe because of the traffic of wifi in my home because of other users.
