Hey guys, I've seen people saying Aikars flags are outdated and shouldn't be used so I wonder which I should use?
I'm currently using these ones that I found on https://github.com/brucethemoose/Minecraft-Performance-Flags-Benchmarks and want to know if they're good or will cause troubles/are outdated

Akiars flags are usually recommended still

I've been using them for a while and my server still somehow lags quite a "lot", i'm using oracle vm and have 4 cores and 24gb ram and i don't really understand what could be the issue (i have around 170 mods and many of them are dimension mods and terrain generation mods)
ive pregenned the world using chunky too but it would still lag (overloaded warning) so now im wondering if changing the flags could help?

Aikar has the classic good flags, but you could also check out ZGC, it’s pretty damn cool.

thanks for the advice, i'll check them out!
i didn't have this many mods before (i had around 100), or well, i didnt have any dimensions mods before and only had 2 terrain pregen mods and it would still lag for no reason

Yep that be OCI free tier.
Take a spark report if you will. Just to be sure nothing sus is happening.

for optimization mods im using lithium, ferritecore, noisium, better chunk loading and smooth chunk, should i be using other ones too?
and will do when im able to, thanks a lot for the help!
spark report can tell us more

Gonna disagree with Aeon's implication here.

Aikar's flags work, and every 6 months or so someone new comes along planning to revolutionize Minecraft flags with an alternative Garbage Collector, does extensive testing, and their results conclude at best that the alternative GCs are as good as G1GC but require more CPU.

Nothing has dethroned Aikar's flags yet. Just use Aikar's flags.

There are more ways to optimize than just flags. Run a Spark report and post it here.

no worries. I give my permission for you to @ me when you post a Spark report. I actually kinda enjoy trying to crack the case with those.
Lots of worldgen, lots of terrain types.
I’d question how much though, worth a test in any case.
Depends if bro is yeeting around in an Elytra or not.
Example, ZGC is better than Aikar at just having lots of RAM, and if bro is managing to use C2ME to split his workload across cores he might see a per world benefit over Aikar by a smidge.
Translation: There is a slim chance that there might be benefit to ZGC, despite all prior testing not supporting this.

Yeah, true. There might be, there just isn't any evidence to suggest that there is. Feel free to be the next person to concoct a set of benchmarks for this. I'll keep using G1GC until someone finally manages to prove there is even an ounce of benefit to ZGC or Shenandoah.

I mean I implied testing.
