I’ve just setup a server through oracle in a vm, but when I close Putty the server stops, I can’t install screen and just get an error, are there any work arounds (except leaving my pc on)?

Where and what do you run to get that error?
run it through docker
also im guessing you're not on ubuntu.
so screen won't be pre-installed
