Installed a bedrock server on Ubuntu and then realized I don’t know what I’m doing.

So I (title). I know nothing really about Linux. Curls and gets and sudos and shit are not in my lexicon yet. I’m learning but I’m not too sharp. I followed this https://pimylifeup.com/ubuntu-minecraft-bedrock-server/ and it is running great. So great I feel the need to break it. I want to install plugins and addons or whatever but I don’t what tyoe if server this is or where to get plugins that work on it. Worse, I don’t have the vocabulary to find out what I don’t know. Can anyone point me to the education that I seek?
Appears to be a "Bedrock server" which uses "addons". Addons aren't the most common type of additional modification content, but they're out there.

Other types of servers would be vanilla Java (no modifications available other than datapacks), Bukkit/Spigot/Paper/Purper (uses datapacks AND plugins, which are far more powerful and performant), Geyser (same as the previous type, as Geyser is itself a plugin, but with added support for Bedrock clients), Forge/Neoforge/Fabric (uses datapacks and Mods, which are generally the most powerful form of additional modification, but usually must also be installed client side to work. Each of these has their own type of Mod that are usually not intercompatible).

From your current point, finding Bedrock addons might be fun. Or if you want a bigger challenge, try installing Paper (a Java custom server built for plugins and performance) and then adding Geyser to it (for bedrock compat). This would give you a LOT of options for plugins to install and further customize.

I relate to the "need to break it now that it's working". I "spun up" multiple servers that way I can break one while tinkering and not upset my wife and daughter when I do so LOL

I am using Pterodactyl panel. The install and setup will be a bit daunting but the tutorials are well made AND the support here is phenomenal.

I DO NOT know if Ptero panel works with bedrock. However, I wanted to put the idea in your brain before you get too far (like I did) and end up redoing everything (you probably will whichever way you go.. I did).

Good luck and have fun!

Could always entertain the aforementioned geyser on a java-based platform, if it means being able to run multiple servers.
