Multiverse-Core Setting Spawns

So, I'm already aware of how to set world spawns in every world, however I'd like to know if it's possible to set spawns for each individual player on a server.

Right now I'm working on an rpg of sorts and I'd like for any players who've reached the first town of their adventure to be able to set their spawn in that town instead of all the way back at the start of the world. When they die, I don't want them to spawn back at the start, and instead spawn at the nearest check point, but I also want people who join the world for the first time to spawn at the start. Is there any commands for that?

While beds are a quick fix, I want to glorify setting a spawn with animations and stuff using commands.
