My issue:
I'm fairly certain I've done what I can in order to make the server launch using at least 16GB of RAM, however every time I launch it the GUI states that it's only got about 0-4% memory free even though it's only using less than 2GB
I'm hoping perhaps someone can see what I've missed? I tried to include any relevant info, please feel free to ping as much as needed with any questions
Technical Info:
Modded [heavily]
Launch: Modrinth [I still launch it manually using a start.bat]
Loader: Fabric
Start.bat:
Start.sh
Other files that might be relevant but I have no idea:
fabric-server-launcher.properties

You can add
Xms=16G to your startup flagsAlso please note that this just means that the JVM will initialize with that amount of heap space, it doesnt just make the server use that amount of memory. Your server will decide what it wants to use.
Do you have any issue related to memory usage or what promt you to want to force such a large initial heap size to begin with?

mainly just that it won't use more when it needs it, it'll just get to 0% free and then start to lag like crazy even though it's only using 2-3GB at most
and my machine has like 32 or 36 available

Unless you are actually experience an OOM crash, there is no reason to read what's displayed on your GUI graph, I persum that's where you were reading those number from.

That did fix the ram thing though
and yeah that's where im reading it from
I dont know if its OOM, but it does crash often
Pixiebob
that merit is kinda pointless in this context.
as for the lag part, you will need to catch the next one and present a spark report so people here can take a look for you.

Oh I'll keep that in mind then, if it happens again *nodnod!

For those crash or stalls, there should be a report generated in your Minecraft folder. Try to find it and it should tell you why.
