Technically there should be an issue opening up the one port for a Minecraft server. Planning on only having a few people. Is there anything to be aware of?

I've hosted Minecraft servers between friends a few times over the years. All of which involved me giving out my personal IP address. Is there a risk to doing so with strangers.

i mean if you don’t trust them or know them don’t give it out
the issues can be they leak it and you can get dossed
they find out roughly where you live (most ip trackers are like 1-10 mile offset as they can’t be 100% accurate)
or just other weird shit

velocity is another option
get a free vm from something like oracle, then configure velocity there
