I am trying to host a server for people where we do something like the Double Life series that Grian did.
This requires a certain fabric mod, and due to availability reasons will only be able to be played once or twice every week.
This leaves the server dormant for quite a lot of time, and we thought we could maybe do a separate world that's just vanilla or perhaps with the Origin mods. Would it be possible to have one server with separate worlds and inventories for each player?
I know Multiverse does something similar on spigot but idk how that would work on Fabric (1.21.4).

Note: you can use datapacks to create another world and use execute to teleport into each world. Probably could use a warp mod to switch between worlds or create a datapack trigger CMD system to switch between worlds

Would I be able to have separate inventories with this too?
@Transvaal lion Would I be able to have separate inventories with this too?

Probably should have checked but your requirements is a bit more complex
Better question yet. What host are you using
Transvaal lionOP
I ended up going with Servcity

Yeeeaa
I think the easiest would be a separate server
But that would be a pain
And more costs that I don't think are necessary
Asiatic Lion
You can use backups to switch
Transvaal lionOP
Ooohh
Asiatic Lion
Wouldn't be efficient and abd would be annoying
Transvaal lionOP
Yeah I thought of just swapping out server files
Asiatic Lion
If your server is less than 20 GB.and they have good speeds a restore should take less than half an hour at max and I predict probs 10 mins realistically
Transvaal lionOP
Would be pretty annoying but if I only do it twice a week if should be fine
So I just back up the server to my PC and switch it out every time?
@Transvaal lion So I just back up the server to my PC and switch it out every time?
Asiatic Lion
If you want
Could just rely on servcity's backups
Transvaal lionOP
Oh I hadn't checked if they had those
