@Ruddy Ground-Dove
docker expert lol
Kromfohrländer
1.21.0 ?
@Brown bear why?
Ruddy Ground-Dove
1.
2. You don't need TZ for this, and if you want it you should be using UTC.
3. Get into the habit of using full version numbers and update while you're at it.
4. Add in
mc:/data is going to be scuffed if there's no volume for it, anyway you should probably do host mount. /etc/minecraft/server:/data2. You don't need TZ for this, and if you want it you should be using UTC.
3. Get into the habit of using full version numbers and update while you're at it.
4. Add in
USE_AIKAR_FLAGS=true to your env, perf boost.Point 3 should fix your shit, the other 3 will make your speed higher and maintenance easier.

/etc/minecraft/server being the directory my compose file is in?
Ruddy Ground-Dove
No, the Compose can be anywhere,
/etc/minecraft/server would be the location of the server files.Rn you have them in a volume called
mc which will be a bit harder to manage.@Ruddy Ground-Dove Rn you have them in a volume called
mc which will be a bit harder to manage. Brown bearOP
idek where that mc directory is lel, its not at the root, the server files just appear in the container
Ruddy Ground-Dove
It's a docker volume, it's not in root.
Hence why you should use a host mount so the files show up in
/etc/minecraft/server.@Ruddy Ground-Dove Hence why you should use a host mount so the files show up in
/etc/minecraft/server. Brown bearOP
so /etc/minecraft/server should have all server.properties, jars and stuff, and then be mounted into the docker container? Right now, i dont see a directory called mc outside the container anywhere even tho its in the compose lel, i just see the server.properties and stuff in the container
You have the
/data folder in the container bound to the mc volume on the host.If you want the files in a host dir you want to replace
mc with /etc/minecraft/server or whatever.@Ruddy Ground-Dove If you want the files in a host dir you want to replace
mc with /etc/minecraft/server or whatever. Brown bearOP
Ah got it, i wasnt aware thats what volume meant, so i assume the minecraft-docker-back_mc is the one its using now?
Screenshot_2025-01-25_at_10.57.54_PM.png
the last one got cut off, but that was the last volume in the list
Ruddy Ground-Dove
Yeah I mean find the volume and do the thing.
This looks about right.
Just go into the volume and check the files.
@Ruddy Ground-Dove Just go into the volume and check the files.

thank you and srry for being dumb but how can i move the existing files from the volume to my local drive then?

thanks got it, still having trouble with the version though, looks like its still trying to use the latest jar i downloaded in the server files, which is breaking datapacks on the world which are only compatible with 12.1

Ruddy Ground-Dove
Check the itzg docs. He’ll have the version syntax there.
What type of server is this? Fabric?
