I got a new server and am running ATM9 to the Sky on it via Forge. I force loaded the chunks via ftb chunks, but it seems like, there was no progress over night, although the server stayed online. Do I have to do something else?

He means he can force the chunks to stay loaded, meaning when people are offline machines and stuff will work overnight.
@Chinese Alligator Check any server hibernation stuff, that can screw with chunkloading.
ftbchunks by default run forceload via "If online and/or part of team is online, forceload chunks. If not online, dont forceload"
